Nothing bad about these lands!!

Once again, we have been given a great welcome and have had a full schedule in Drumheller, in the so-called Badlands. We have met so many interesting people on our trip so far – it has been such a pleasure as well as a privilege – we are very fortunate to be given this opportunity.

Tuesday saw us all visiting the ‘penitentiary” – an experience! They did let us all out in the end......however, I am getting a reputation here for visiting prisons! This afternoon we spent some time at the world-famous Tyrell Museum, before being escorted on a “behind-the-scenes” tour by Leanna. Being connected to Rotary opens lots of doors – quite literally today!

I would like to thank my hosts Bob and Betty for opening their house to me and making me so welcome. It seems a pity that we are moving on again tomorrow. The time is going so quickly!! It is pretty tiring but we are all having the time of our lives. It turns out that, even though everything is so flat here, we are actually 3000 feet above sea level, so that explains at least some of our exhaustion!!

  1. miss you all already. It was great having you all here, you showed me a good time and lots of memories to go with it. thankyou Nicola for your gifts, you should not have done that...your presence was a present enough. Did a 40km cycle ride today, I will probably hurt tomorrow. Hey Nicola, they called today and I get my surgery tomorrow at noon....FINALLY!!!
Have a great trip I envy all the other people getting to spend time with you all.
Good luck and hope to see you all in Scotland very soon.

  3. all went well, got a new pacemaker, going back to the hospital tomorrow as it is not pacing properly but I am enjoying the resting part. Which hospital did you go to??? I actually met one of the nurses in hospital who is 6 miles out of Kilmarnock, she worked in the hospital there and she moved to Canada in November. When I heard her accent I had to go out and see if it was you there as it sounded just like you :-)
Anyway your trip is sounding amazing, yep those rockies are the best I must say!!! I will keep checking up on how you guys are doing. It sounds like Bragg Creek was well needed for a rest eh???
    Take care
