Well seen its been a while since I blogged, when I can't even do it right!!
I have been having a great time and been really busy!!! Our time in Lethbridge was was fantastic from both a vocational and professional angle. So I better start with the vocational aspects (well that's meant to be the main reason for the trip and I better say that in case any of my bosses are reading this!!). I spent one full day in the general hospital. I was meant by the nurse educator for the operating theatres, Suzanne. She was great as she could give me a good insight into the running of the complex, whilst also giving me food for thought. In the afternoon I got to spend sometime with the senior nurse who was the manager of the OR. I found this really informative as she had conducted alot of work on bed flow and theatre efficiency. This was a role that I worked on part time last year. So she gave me plenty of ideas and tips on how they overcame many problems, whilst becoming a very useful contact.
My hosts Richard and Di were lovely and made me feel very welcome in their home. Robin and the other rotary members gave us a great tour of the local sights, which my other team members have already commented on, however I have to say that I really like Waterton and I am so glad that Robin and Jo took the time to take us there, Thanks!!
I was really sad to be leaving as they made us all feel so welcome and at home. However that's what this trip is all about; moving on, meeting new people and having more experiences!!
On coming to Drumheller we were welcomed again by open arms. I am now staying with Tracy, Brian and their kids. Even in just a short time they have made me feel so at home in their house. On Easter Sunday we had a lovely BBQ (Brian is a great cook) and watched the ice float down the river from the "swinging bridge". This was amazing to watch, but a wee bit confusing as it felt that it was the bridge moving instead of the water (and no this had nothing to do with the wine, well I don't think so anyway!!). Today was great and packed with a hospital visit and local sight seeing. Just going to Ian's house for a wee party!!
So until next time, over and out .....
